The Ranger Tugs R-23 is a much-anticipated addition to our award-winning lineup of Ranger Tugs. Powered by a standard 200 HP Yamaha outboard , the R-23 bridges the gap between the popular R-21 EC and R-25 SC models. The first thing you will notice when looking at the R-23 is the dramatic, curved windshield and visor, which is emphasized by several overhead skylights. There is no shortage of light or visibility onboard the R-23, which incorporates four opening roof hatches, sliding side windows, and an opening glass bulkhead, providing a very open and airy feeling inside and out. Opening portlights also allow for a nice cross breeze in the cabin. The forward cabin on the R-23 has plenty of room for sitting around the teak table, separate sleeping for two or sleeping two together with the filler-cushion. The mid berth is great for kids or storage, and the dinette converts to a sleeper as the third berth. The well-appointed galley on the R-23 is standard with refrigerator/freezer, cooktop, and microwave. The forward head includes a marine toilet with holding tank, shower, sink, and mirror. The Ranger Tugs R-23 is standard with Garmin 7610 GPS with Depth Sounder/Fish Finder and available with optional HDX radar. VHF to stay in touch, illuminated compass, cabin nightlight, cockpit and exterior side trail lighting, and our patented built-in safety trailering lights (brake, turn, and reverse) are all standard equipment making the R-23 ready to cruise. The cockpit on the R-23 is built to fish and ready to entertain with standard rod holders, optional downrigger pads & outlets, a folding double seat, and cockpit table.
Lowest Priced Ranger Tug R23 on Boat Trader. Boat is in Excellent Condition. We are selling our Ranger Tug . It is an R23 Diesel. Only about 5 of these were made. Others were all outboards, You really need to see this boat to appreciate the excellent condition it is in. Below is it's story. Boat has always been stored indoors. First 5 years: Owned by an affluent individual. During his summer trips to Maine, the boat was used on Moosehead Lake (fresh water lake in Maine). Once he finished using it, the local Ranger Tug dealer would service the boat and store it inside till next summer. Last 3 years:: We acquired the boat and have, used it out of a climate controlled Boatel. They put in the water for use. When we are done for the day, it is placed in interior climate controlled storage till next time. Annually the boat was serviced by the local Volvo-Penta Dealer. Most recent service was last week. Diesel Engine: Has a 170 HP Volvo Penta engine. At trawler speeds we got 12(ish) MPG. At 30 MPH, we got t about 3.8(ish) MPG. With its' 80 gallon tank, it can go a long distance. There is 91 hours on the engine. A wonderful thing about the diesel is the Large alternator. I have used it to charge a few lithium battery packs to get AC while underway. The diesel is an outdrive with counterrotating props, it is a joy at low and high speeds.. It has great dock manners and is very effective in reverse. Also, the diesel provides for a cabin heater. Stability: With the heavy diesel engine down low, the boat is very stable (at rest and underway). At all speeds, the boat tracks straight and level. While it has trim tabs, I have never needed them to level the boat. Overall Condition: Photos are a good illustration. Since it has always been stored inside, it is in great shape. Options: At all speeds, the boat tracks straight and level. While it has trim tabs, I have never needed them to level the boat. . Options: * Stern Rails on Back of swim platform * Heat pump * Large Garmin Chart plotter *Full extension for aft sunshade *Various covers for the windows and seats * Bow Thruster * Stern Thruster (mechanically installed). I have not done the electrical install yet. I have the electrical parts from the kit. It will be provided with instructions. *....and the normal options that come with a Ranger Tug, Boat has 5 new (last summer) AGM batteries. A common question is: Why are we selling our R23. We are life long sailors and have decided to go back to a sailboat. Please note, the boat does not have a trailer. Please reach out with any questions. If this ad is still up, the boat is available.
