2019 Bavaria C57 | Nixie
For those seeking a shorthanded cruising yacht that combines ease of handling with the comforts of a much larger vessel, Nixie is a superb choice. Launched in 2019 and with only two owners from new, this Bavaria C57 is exceptionally well presented and equipped. The four-cabin layout maintains a generous full owners’ suite forward without compromise.
Designed by Italian naval architect Maurizio Cossutti, Nixie boasts a sleek, low-profile appearance yet offers impressive onboard space. The beamy aft cockpit houses twin rudders and covers a tender garage accommodating a 2.7-metre tender with a 9.9hp outboard. The fold-down transom door creates an expansive swim platform for easy water access when at anchor.
Below deck, Nixie features an open-plan saloon with abundant natural light and ceiling heights up to 2.4 metres. The full-beam galley sits just forward of midships, providing ample bench space and storage. The owners’ suite is spacious with a walk-around queen bed, plentiful light and a separate ensuite shower and head.
Aft of the galley, the dining area includes an electrically adjustable table that transforms from dining height to a coffee table, complemented by a 42-inch smart TV opposite a two-person starboard sofa. The navigation station and chart table are located just aft with comprehensive B&G instrumentation.
The two aft cabins each have large doubles with an ensuite to port, while the starboard side features a flexible bunk room ideal as a fourth cabin or storage. Performance-wise, Nixie’s 2.5-metre deep draft keel and North 3Di sails deliver excellent cruising speed. All sail controls, including electric Lewmar winches, furling mainsail, self-tacking jib and Code 0, are managed from the cockpit for effortless sailing.
Additional features include an upgraded Yanmar 4JH110 engine, bow and stern thrusters, solar panels, washing machine, two sets of sails and an Ultra 45kg anchor.
