In the winter of 2023/2024, the ship was varnished, and in the spring of 2025, both the bottom and the floorboards were renewed. The hull is coated with a polyester layer up to the gunwale, which helps protect the wood from external influences. Additionally, an antifouling treatment was carried out in 2025.With a length of 7 meters, a width of 2 meters, and a draft of only 10 centimeters, this punter is particularly suitable for use on canals, ditches, and other shallow inland waters. The clearance height of 95 centimeters with the mast lowered allows it to pass under low bridges, significantly increasing its navigational possibilities.Sailing Equipment and MotorizationThe Beulakermeer sailing punter is equipped with a fully removable rig, allowing the ship to be used both under sail and by motor. This makes the vessel versatile for different weather conditions and sailing areas. Steering is done via a tiller on the outside, with a single rudder.For propulsion, there is a Honda 4-stroke outboard motor with 10 hp, with a manual start. This motor from 2011 has two cylinders and runs on gasoline. The cruising speed is around 10 kilometers per hour, with a maximum speed of approximately 15 kilometers per hour.
