Description
EMERALD STAR is a beautiful sailing vessel with the classic look of days gone by. This full keel Cabo Rico 38 is a true offshore yacht. Designed by William Crealock, it is highly regarded among those who choose the cruising lifestyle. EMERALD STAR has been loved and cared for by her current owners since 2003. They raved about the simple ergonomics of sailing her as a couple and on single-handed watches. She has recent bottom paint, and a new shaft seal. The exterior varnish just completed its annual refresh and the interior was completely revarnished in 2020. The folding salon table is a work of art. EMERALD STAR is hull number 151 with many custom upgrades including two fuel tanks instead of one. Her layout includes abundant cabinet storage, the shower is separate from the head, and the captain's stateroom has a Tempurpedic mattress in the Vberth. The starboard settee pulls out to become a double berth for guests. No aft cabin means more storage. Aptly described as a "one bedroom with 3 car garage." Accommodations
Down the companionway is a large chart table to starboard and the U-shaped galley is to port. The galley has abundant cabinet storage, spice racks, utility drawers and counter space. The Nav station/desk has a swing out chair, chart locker, more teak storage cabinets, and electronics. The drawers under the hatch stairs provide storage for the hatch boards. Forward into the main salon is an L shaped settee to starboard and a straight settee to port with a large, ventilated storage area below both settees. Tanks are under the cabin sole. The L shaped settee converts into a double berth and the straight settee is a good single berth with lee cloth. The exquisite inlaid dining table folds away against a forward bulkhead cabinet and can be unfolded to accommodate both settees. When the table is down its bulkhead cabinet reveals storage for dishes and glassware, a wine rack, and drawers for tableware. Samsung TV- 32” mounted on salon bulkhead. Forward of the salon is the owner's stateroom with a large double berth and a dressing seat. The head with VacuFlush toilet is to starboard and has a separate large shower. The teak woodwork throughout the interior was redone in 2020 and looks new. Excellent ventilation is achieved with six well-placed 12-volt fans, three opening hatches with teak frames and screens, twelve SS opening ports with screens and two SS dorades. Excellent natural light and visibility through the portlights is a plus for a boat this size.
