Williwaw is a handsome, ocean-capable Bristol 41.1 Aft Cockpit Sloop, designed by the legendary Ted Hood and built in Rhode Island with Bristol’s renowned craftsmanship and seaworthiness. Williwaw combines the timeless lines and solid build of a classic Bristol with fresh mechanical updates and an ideal shoal-draft configuration. She’s clean, comfortable, and ready to cruise — a great opportunity for sailors seeking a proven blue-water design that’s equally at home exploring Florida’s coastal waters.
Her shoal-draft swing keel hull has been modified — the centerboard has been bolted in the raised position after the cable failed — providing a fixed 4′6″ draft ideal for the Intracoastal Waterway, Florida Keys, and Bahamas. The bolts can be removed, holes glassed and cable mechanism repaired by a qualified marine technician if the new owner wishes.
A comprehensive marine survey (July 2025) by RJE Marine Services in St. Augustine documented her systems and condition. Since then, the owner has completed nearly all recommended repairs and upgrades. She is now in the water at Rivers Edge Marina (D Dock), ready for inspection or sea trial.

Replaced freshwater discharge and forward head raw-water intake hoses
Serviced and lubricated seacocks (aft head discharge, engine intake, and cockpit drain)
Installed new fire extinguishers throughout (mounted per USCG regs)

Degreased, flushed, and cleaned bilges using environmentally friendly cleaner
Refinished all exterior teak — coamings, cap rails, helm table, rub rails, and trim
Repaired companionway ladder (two loose steps secured, one replaced)
Secured throttle control box on engine
Replaced outdated twist-on connectors with marine-grade heat-shrink crimp connectors
Secured A/C raw-water pump
Installed new transom zinc and verified engine pencil zincs

Condition and Value
The July 2025 survey rated Williwaw as “Fair”, largely for age-related maintenance items. With nearly all findings corrected, she now presents in Good overall condition — clean, functional, and ready to cruise.
The fixed 4′6″ draft makes her exceptionally well-suited for East Coast and island cruising while retaining Bristol’s renowned strength and sailing balance.
