1979 Tayana Vancouver 42, Proven Bluewater Cruiser, Fully Refitted and Ready to Sail
Custom-built in Taiwan for her original owners, this Robert Harris designed Tayana Vancouver 42 embodies true offshore craftsmanship and capability. Her first owners cherished her from launch until 2009, when the current owners purchased and lovingly restored her to near-new condition, upgrading, refitting, and modernizing her over the past 16 years while living aboard in Alameda, California and cruising south to Mexico in 2022.
Now fully cruise-ready and beautifully maintained, she’s a USCG-documented vessel with everything you need to continue the adventure; from a Beta 43 diesel with low hours, Spectra watermaker (4 years old), and new electronics (2022), to a complete sail inventory including spinnaker and new mainsail with stack pack.
Her comfortable interior layout features a Pullman stateroom forward, convertible quarter berth aft, and a bright salon with a head and shower. Topsides, a fully enclosed cockpit with interchangeable “glass” and mesh panels provides comfort and protection in all weather. Her new stainless safety rails and recent bottom job (2024) underscore the care she’s received.
