Description
Sailboat or cabin tender now from the broker himself!!
Every now and then, a gem of a boat comes up for sale, and this is that moment. A classic, original De Vries Lentsch cabin sailboat, built in 1967 - it is one of the last designs from this famous N.V. Amsterdam Shipyard (the yard that also built the royal yacht, the lemsteraak de Groene Draeck).
The long keel is almost 60 years old but visibly very well maintained (woodwork, mast, varnish, sails, fittings). It is entirely made of teak, including an original teak deck in extremely good condition, and eight meters long. All original details (original bronze fittings) have been preserved, kept in good condition, or replaced with original versions. From the galvanized anchor, with galvanized anchor chain (and anchor locker), to the portholes and the air vents (new) made of bronze.
The original mast was completely renovated in 2025, with all the fittings removed to refurbish the mast completely. The stays are new (the stay adjusters are made of bronze, as are the pins); the boat also has a nice skipper's roof with a round window for daylight. There is a fender all around, also with a decorative strip of bronze. On the cabin, there are some safety handholds. There is also a large storage box available in the cockpit, with plenty of storage space.
With the sailboat, you will receive three sails, tailored to the rigging, and there is a nice fast furling genoa with a handy roller furling system.
The wide side decks and beautiful guardrail with a large cockpit make the sailboat very suitable for comfortable sailing/boating with four or more people. The attached rudder provides a pleasant steering experience, the boat is easy to handle, even for beginner sailors. Note, the sailboat could also potentially be used as a tender; the air draft is 195m.
Moreover, it is an exceptionally stable ship thanks to its weight (4500 kilos). The powerful engine, Sole, three-cylinder, 29 HP Diesel, sails smoothly and creates little wake – and sails at about 19 km per hour, without the mast.
This De Vries Lentsch is not only a showpiece but also a practical sailing ship, to enjoy, equipped with all comforts, for beautiful trips and long stays on the boat. There are four sleeping places available, both in the cabin and in the forepeak and at the back, but what makes this classic from 1967 so unique are the modern facilities. There is a new electric toilet on board; a new television; the electrical system was completely replaced in 2022 (including four AGM batteries (2024), a Victron charger, and inverter). On the go, without shore power, you can easily make coffee, cook (two-burner ceramic plate), or watch television; all cushions have been completely renewed, in elegant cream white (sky) leather, made by a professional ship interior upholsterer (Astrid van den Berg, Vinkeveen), including the curtains; there is a Silvercrest microwave, cooking plate (on which you can see how much wattage is being used), and a Nespresso coffee machine on board (included).
The current owner has lovingly cared for the boat for over 9 years, year in and year out, so to speak; it has been fully varnished every year with Epifanes Rapid Clear and high-gloss varnish, new antifouling every two years, and every winter season it is stored indoors (October-March) to maintain its excellent condition.
