Description
Beautiful Lemsteraak. The first example built in steel. Converted to a roefaak in 1957 according to the design of Lunstroo.
Lemsteraak De Eersteling is the first iron aak from the yard of Pier de Boer in Lemmer. The 40-foot Lemsteraak is built with a skin thickness of 7 millimeters, making it solidly constructed. In the first year after the launch, its seaworthiness and sturdiness were proven when a ship was in distress. De Eersteling with fishing number LE28 was deployed to provide assistance and succeeded in rescuing the crew of a sinking ship. Until 1957, the ship was used for fishing, after which it was converted to a roefaak according to the design of the renowned yacht designer Lunstroo. This conversion and refit were carried out by yacht yard De Jong in Durgerdam.
