Azimut's New ‘Quad-Deck’ Flagship Yacht

Azimut has announced the release of its new flagship—the Low Emission Yacht Grande 44M—as part of its ‘green fleet’, superseding its existing flagship, the Grande Trideck. Notable differences include the extra space, extending almost 20 feet longer, and the addition of the fourth deck, enabling a complete refresh of the layout while retaining the sea deck, a big part of the Trideck’s success.

Alberto Mancini carried out the design concept and exterior styling, and the contemporary interiors were designed by m²atelier.

Reducing Carbon Emissions: State-of-The-Art Technology

The carbon-clad fleet of Low Emission Yachts offers a reduction of between 20 and 30% in emissions compared to similarly sized, traditionally designed vessels. The Mild Hybrid Plus Zero Emission Hotel Mode system enables the owner to stay at anchor for 4 to 8 hours with the generators off, a new level of electrification developed by Azimut|Benetti Group R&D in partnership with Asea Nautica. Azimut has also utilized this technology on six other models, setting a new benchmark in the superyacht industry.

The Hull Vane® foil technology installed is a collaboration between Hull Vane, a Dutch advanced hydrodynamic solution company, and Azimut’s|Benetti Group R&D Department. The Hull Vane® carbon wing fitted to the stern of Grande 44M suppresses the stern wave and generates forward thrust, further reducing overall drag and damping of pitch, sway, and roll in navigation.

A Complete Refresh: Embracing An Adaptive Layout

Relocating the helm station to the fourth deck releases space on the Upper Deck, allowing the owner to transform it into an Owner’s Deck featuring a master suite and a private sea view terrace offering spectacular uninterrupted views.

Alternatively, as a dining area with a veranda accommodating 12 people. The forward section of Grande 44M’s Upper Deck can be fitted out as a media room for guests or reserved for the owner. An almost -seven-foot tunnel-long window encases the interiors, providing a sense of openness and flooding the deck with natural light and sea views. While the interiors are open and airy, m²atelier wanted to retain a sense of warmth and coziness by installing a small fire pit in the aft-facing lounge area on the bow, an ideal spot to watch the sunset over the water.

An Immersive 'Looking-Glass' Swimming Pool

Abaft, Grande 44M’s sea view terrace overlooks the sea and features a ‘transparent’ pool, which generates reflections and evokes a sense of ethereal magic. m²atelier used water as its design inspiration, capturing its essence of yin and fluidity, creating rippling reflections at every juncture. The cascades of water are palpable thanks to the art of trickery using refraction and reflection, whether in or out of the pool.
