Ocean Star 48.1 Launched

Ocean Yachts is a Greek sailboat manufacturer who's luxury sailboat range is making an explosive entry in international markets.

True to its goals for the expansion of its boatyard and the continuous improvement of its sailboats, Ocean Yachts has carefully planned, studied and constructed a new 48 ft sailboat, the new Ocean Star 48.1.

The Ocean Star 48.1 is the smallest of the Ocean Star range, and is as seaworthy and reliable as the Ocean Star 51.2 and 56.1. As Mr. Kostas Rendas, the Ocean Yachts naval architect states "Considering the ever-changing market requirements, we have increased the interior height of the Ocean Star 48.1 in order to provide for more spaciousness and maneuverability below deck, while allowing a more functional deck arrangement." The deck layout features a dual cockpit configuration and a spacious sitting area with an optional fixed table for extra comfort. Some of the standard equipment includes a two spreader deck step type within-mast roller furling system, lead fin keel, teak deck on cockpit locker covers and bathing platform, and a 75 HP Yanmar turbo diesel engine.

"Our aim is to target both the charter and private sailboat owner's ends of the market, and have therefore created a four cabin version suitable for chartering and a three cabin version for private use." States Kostas Rendas.

Ocean Yachts manufactures sailboats ranging from 48 -56 ft with charter and owner's version layouts.

The company has already established dealers in United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Italy and south of France.
