Konrad Marine of Hudson, Wisc., just finished up its first drive clinic of 2010 for dealers of its various stern-drive products—including its high-performance ACE drive. The company offers the three-day clinic twice a year for up to 15 students. Each day of the program lasts three hours.

According to Randy Sofie, the general manager of Konrad Marine, 10 students attended the clinic.

“On the first day, we take them through installation, maintaining, propping and lot of other ‘classroom’ stuff,” Sofie told me earlier today. “In the second day, we actually work on rebuilding and overhauling units.”

Sofie said Konrad started its bi-annual clinic program in 2002.

“We’ve never had to cancel it—there always seems to be interest,” he explained. “But a lot of our international dealers and customers can’t travel here, so we also do on-site training in various parts of the world.”
