GX Superyachts Unveiled

Slovenian-born Greenline Yachts has been at the forefront of innovation, paving the way forward in eco-responsible yachting since its inception back in 2008 the marine industry began the drive towards hybrid models, incorporating a battery bank and integrated solar power.

Fast forward sixteen years, and it has widened its offering to encompass not just eco-friendly family cruisers, but also aluminum-hulled pocket superyachts from 78 feet up to 164 feet. The first 137 foot (42-meter) model has been sold and the project is under development at SES Yachts' shipbuilding facilities in Tuzla, Turkey with a delivery scheduled for summer 2026.

The brand hopes to set a new benchmark in environmental performance with its hybrid drive, battery bank and solar panels previously used within the Greenline Yacht.

Irrespective of size, each model will be able to reach six knots and a range of up to 100 nautical miles in electric mode, with the shipyard promising "Less than 40 per cent of the carbon emissions," of a conventional yacht of a similar size.

Francesco Rogantin of NAMES studio was responsible for the efficient hull design.

Marco Casali owner of Italian studio Too Design has a longstanding relationship with Greenline and has been responsible for the success of Greenline’s previous yachts' modern layout and interior design so it was the natural choice that he should continue to work on the larger yachts.

The GX range is available in two primary layouts; the Coupé and the RPH. The Coupé has a long, curved superstructure roofed with solar panels that slide apart to reveal a hidden sun deck, complete with jacuzzi and bar. Meanwhile, the RPH version offers a flybridge with a volume of 353GT. Both designs benefit from a beach club with fold-down wings and a vast hydraulic platform.

Casali prefers to work with specialized brands such as Antonio Lupi, Dornbracht and Poltrona Frau. "I am proud of the way we have reinterpreted the timeless looks of the smaller Greenline yachts to give soul and purpose to the lines of the new superyachts," said Casali, "The challenge around sustainability is particularly close to my heart."

The GX range will be capable of "silent" anchorage for 48 hours or more. The battery bank will power the hotel load during this time, including air conditioning, for no noise, vibration or fumes.

In diesel mode, the yachts will have a maximum speed of 12 knots and an impressive range of 11,571 nautical miles at six knots.

As part of the brands commitment to sustainability, from 2025, all Greenline yachts, whether hybrid or diesel versions, will operate without diesel generators.

CEO Vladimir Zinchenko leaves a statement about new initiatives available in the US, “The American market has long appreciated the user-inspired features that make Greenline yachts so livable, not to mention the potential for silent electric operation. And this year, there is a stronger incentive than ever to join the Greenline family, as Washington state is waiving sales tax on new hybrid yachts. That could mean savings in excess of $100,000 for smart buyers.”
