Ft. Lauderdale International Boat (Slide) Show
Hundreds of boats were on display, and we can still take you for a visit.
Before it becomes ancient history, I wanted to offer some views of the 50th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. I spent three hot days at the beginning of the month, walking the docks, attending press conferences, and meeting builders, yacht brokers, other journalists, and boating aficionados from all over. I know I only scratched the surface.

A typical scene: builder Trinity Yachts has a lineup of superyachts which together seem normal.

Among the glossy Viking sportfishing boats was the new 76.

The 320 Outrage with twin Verado Mercury outboards debuted at the show.

Press conference: CEO Vincenzo Poerio (right) and sales manager Stefano De Vivo describe Benetti's plan to launch six new superyacht models.

The new Regal 44 Sport Coupe, offered at an attractive show price.

The new Selene 60 trawler yacht

Look carefully and you'll see five Mercs on the back of the Midnight Express boat on the far left.

Yacht brokerage HMY had 28 boats, which took up most of this dock.

Atlantic Yacht & Ship had a prime position for its stand, on the dock across from the superyachts.

Live from the docks, an NBC 6 Miami's reporter captures the colorful scene.

A photo op gets arranged on the deck in front of the transom garage of Quantum of Solace (displayed by Merle Wood & Associates).
