Henri-Lloyd Wins DAME Award for the new TP3 Reflex Jacket and Trouser
British clothing manufacturer Henri-Lloyd's new TP3 Reflex Jacket and Hi-Fit Trouser has won the 2001 Design Award METS - DAME. The decision was announced at a Breakfast Briefing this morning on the first day of the Marine Equipment Trade Show in Amsterdam.
The DAME Prize Competition was started to encourage improvement in the design of marine equipment, components and accessories. All exhibitors at METS are eligible to enter. An independent jury selects an outright winner from eight categories. The Jury, headed by leading yacht designer Tony Castro, considered 90 entries and had the following comments to make on Henri-Lloyd's winning TP3 Reflex Jacket and Trouser.
"Their design incorporates all features and important attention to detail which garments should have, but the winning factor was recognition by the Jury of Henri-Lloyd's relentless pursuit of perfection by using new dry yarn technology with ceramic particles in a lightweight fabric that makes the suit not only water repellent and breathable, but also very comfortable to wear, particularly due to its light weight even when fully exposed to the weather. Yet another step forward in a cutting edge market sector".
Henri-Lloyd's TP3 Reflex Jacket is made from TP3 fabric which is exclusive to Henri-Lloyd. TP3 has a direct lining, which offers enhanced durability and wind resistance. The exclusive TP3 fabric technology produces a light and flexible, high performance fabric ideally suited to meet the demands of extreme offshore sailing.
