Ryan McVinney reviews Boston Whaler's new 365 Conquest boat, a family-friendly, angling-ready, comfortable overnighter.
As someone who has spent countless hours on the water, I know what to look for in a boat, and the Boston Whaler 365 Conquest does not disappoint. This family-friendly boat is designed to be a safe, versatile, do-it-all vessel that caters to both serious anglers and those who enjoy cruising in comfort as well. Let’s dive into what makes this boat a standout in the market for 2025.

Key Features and Design
The 365 Conquest is part of Boston Whaler's legendary Conquest line, known for its rugged durability and offshore capability. At 36 feet 11 inches in length overall (LOA) and with a beam of 11 feet 8 inches, the 365 Conquest offers a solid platform whether you’re chasing pelagics offshore or enjoying a weekend getaway.

Boston Whaler has always been about safety and unsinkability, and the 365 Conquest continues this tradition. The boat features a deep-V hull that provides a smooth, dry ride even in choppy conditions, thanks to its robust construction and thoughtful design.
Power Options and Performance
The 365 Conquest can be equipped with a standard setup of triple Mercury 400 V10 outboard engines, or an optional twin Mercury V12 outboard engine package. Either option is ideal for the vessel. The standard configuration delivers a top speed of nearly 50 mph, which is impressive for a boat of this size and weight. At a comfortable cruising speed of 30 mph, you’re looking at a fuel burn in the range of 1.5 miles per gallon, which gives you a decent range considering the boat’s 400-gallon fuel capacity.
Personally, I'd prefer the optional upgrade to the twin 600hp Mercury power plants, giving you a slightly higher top speed of somewhere around 53 miles per hour (46 knots) and a cruising speed of 40 miles per hour (35 knots) with a range of around 280 miles (burning approximately 55 gallons per hour). Although those who prioritize up front cost, range and fuel efficiency over performance and top speed might opt for the triple 400s, the twin 600s are actually very efficient and allow the boat to hop on plane quicker, while providing an overall smoother onboard experience.

Fishability
When it comes to fishability, the 365 Conquest is equipped to handle serious fishing excursions. The boat features a large cockpit with plenty of space for multiple anglers to work without getting in each other’s way. The cockpit is outfitted with everything you’d expect from a serious fishing boat: a 24-gallon transom livewell, multiple rod holders, in-deck fish boxes, and a robust tackle storage system.

The optional tower with controls offers a great vantage point for spotting fish and adds to the boat's versatility. Whether you’re trolling for tuna or drifting for snapper, the 365 Conquest is built to perform.
Creature Comforts
Boston Whaler didn’t skimp on the creature comforts either. The cabin is well-appointed, offering a forward V-berth, a mid-cabin berth, and a convertible dinette, making it possible to sleep up to six people. She is an ideal multi-day weekender, ready for a variety of adventures. The galley is compact but functional, with a microwave, refrigerator, sink, and a single-burner stove. The enclosed head is surprisingly spacious, with a shower, sink, and toilet.

On deck, the hardtop provides ample shade, and the helm station is well-laid out with excellent visibility. The boat also features a retractable sunshade that extends over the cockpit, making it a great spot to relax when you’re not fishing.
Final Thoughts
The Boston Whaler 365 Conquest is a well-rounded boat that offers a blend of performance, comfort, and fishability. Whether you’re an avid angler looking for a serious offshore platform or a family seeking a comfortable cruiser with the capability to tackle rough waters, the 365 Conquest delivers. It’s a boat that’s just as comfortable at the canyon as it is on a weekend cruise, making it a versatile addition to any fleet.
