img9659Stentec Software from The Netherlands now distributes the Miniplex-42BT from Customware, the worlds first NMEA multiplexer that communicates wireless with PC or PDA with the Bluetooth technology. NMEA multiplexers allow navigation software to communicate with NMEA-instruments like autopilot and log.

The main specifications:

  • 4 galvanically isolated NMEA inputs

  • 2 NMEA outputs

  • Bluetooth interface

  • RS-232 interface

  • NMEA filter

  • Channel Priority

Both outputs allow the NMEA data to be distributed to up to eight instruments. The multiplexer communicates with the computer through its Bluetooth interface. The unique NMEA filter can be configured to block certain unwanted NMEA sentences from each instrument. This reduces the chance of loss of data due to an overflow of sentences. The Channel Priority mode allows the multiplexer to be configured in a way that, when similar NMEA sentences appear, only the sentences with the highest priority

The Miniplex-42BT comes with an extra utility which allows the multiplexer to be fully configured. Full configuration will also be possible from the GPS-navigation program WinGPS 4 Pro, which is currently being developed by Stentec Software.

More information about the specifications can be found at www.shipmodul.com. The Miniplex-42BT is available at Stentec Software. The more affordable, less advanced Miniplex-41BT is also available at Stentec
