Alloy Yachts Building AY43

No sooner did Kokomo depart her build slot at Alloy Yachts than this motoryacht started construction.
So far known simply as AY43, her build number, she measures 47 meters (154 feet). She's the third motoryacht for the same owner and the 12th motoryacht overall that Alloy counts in its fleet. Her flybridge design comes from a familiar pairing: Dubois Naval Architects and Donald Starkey Design, who collaborated with Alloy Yachts on Allogante, which was delivered in 2009. Now cruising under the name Loretta Anne, the 40-meter (131-foot) megayacht received the International Superyacht Society Design Award for Best Motoryacht 24 to 40 Meters last year, too.
Few details are being released at this stage, other than that AY43 will have four guest staterooms, a gym, and of course a spa pool. A nice touch on the flying bridge: The side windows will be able to slide down or up depending on the owner's and guests' mood (and probably how much of a breeze is blowing, since no one wants napkins flying across the deck). The shallow draft of 2.2 meters (7'2") will permit plentiful cruising around the islands of her homeport, the Bahamas, and other skinny waters. Cruising speed should be 14.5 knots, thanks to twin 1,600-hp Caterpillar C32 diesel engines.
Delivery is set for 2012.
