Cockpit motor yachts have been a vanishing breed in recent years as manufacturers have moved on to more contemporary designs with pilothouse layouts. With a large cockpit for watersports and a well-appointed interior with two private staterooms, the Carver 41 offers boaters a lot of possibilities. Stepping below, the full- beam salon—made possible by elevating the side decks above eye level—is completely open to the galley and dinette forward resulting in one of the more expansive layouts available in a boat this size. Angled double berths in both staterooms make the most of available space, and the L-shaped galley includes a recessed coffee maker and under-counter refrigeration. A particularly useful feature is the sliding glass door in the master stateroom that opens into the cockpit. Aft deck wing doors provide protection from the elements. Perhaps the best feature of the Carver 41 is her large cockpit for swimming, diving or just hanging out. Volvo 370hp diesels cruise in the mid 20s (26–28 knots top).
