Description
"Grimsby" is a purpose-built, steel hull search and rescue (SAR) craft. It has a deep-V hull design, 11' beam and overall length of 35' with a 3' draft. This sturdy vessel is powered by two Volvo Penta diesel engines with combined output of 630 h.p. It features a full suite of electronics, including GPS chart plotter, radar, automatic identification system (AIS) vessel tracking, VHF direction finding equipment and two VHF marine radios. On board equipment includes a high-capacity fire fighting and dewatering pump.
"Grimsby" has a maximum speed of 25+ knots. Its heavy displacement and good power make it suitable for heavy towing, it is an excellent heavy weather vessel and its long range and hull design make it a very good choice for exposed locations or extended seasons.
"Grimsby" has undergone a major cosmetic and structural refit. All suspect plating has been renewed. Paint bubbles and blisters were brought back to shiny metal and primed. "Grimsby" is ready for paint and is in A+ structural condition. Her ME’s have been well maintained and professionally overhauled.Â
Inside, "Grimsby" is all business. She’s equipped with shock mitigating helm seats and stout handholds throughout. Interior skins and ceiling have been removed to ensure that not an inch of steel remains uninspected or unserviced. She can be put back in full operating mode in a matter of hours or you can start to construct your own custom expedition yacht interior knowing that all underlying structure is 100% sound.
The current owners plans have changed and the outstanding characteristics of the unique vessel are being under utilized. She is stored indoors and available for inspection.Â
