Description
If you dream of exploring the inside passage through the central coast, and on to Alaska, or going south to Mexico and beyond, look no further than this truly "turn-key" home on the water. The indoor and outdoor spaces are extremely functional and provide plenty of space for family and friends to socialize as well as enjoy privacy when needed. “SJR" has been professionally maintained since new, with no expense spared on keeping her in ‘ready to go’ condition. She is fully commissioned, serviced, fueled, and prepared to set sail the day you take ownership.
Originally commissioned by James Shaw (Shaw Communications), the Wendon Yachts service team has been maintaining the boat since new. In the fall of 2022, SJR was purchased by its second owner, who has continued the highest level of service. Over the last 3 years, a roughly $300,000 re-fit has been completed on the vessel, including a full Garmin electronics upgrade, lithium battery bank, cameras, audio system, tender, and every system on the boat from the windlass to the davit has been upgraded or serviced in the last three years.
This 4-cabin motor yacht is located in the North Saanich Marina and has been in the same custom-made boathouse since new. The boathouse, which includes 80’ of additional dock space and a custom gantry, is available to purchase separately.
If you are in the market for an incredibly well-built, well-maintained and upgraded motor yacht, you need to come see SJR for yourself.

Â
This vessel’s layout is designed for effortless living and entertaining with the lower helm, galley, dining area, salon and aft deck on one level.
The main level: The luxurious, open-concept living space starts in the lower helm station with a compact settee and table that flows seamlessly through the galley, dining area, and into the spacious salon.  The beautiful woodwork and large windows throughout allow for incredible views of our coast, no matter where you are. Going further aft, through the sliding glass doors,  and you are on the covered aft deck and an incredibly inviting outdoor space. Â
The covered aft deck and cockpit are your all-weather outdoor lounge, perfect for dining and entertaining while enjoying breathtaking scenery. The lower cockpit has a proper, full-sized barbecue, sink and prep area. If you like hosting a good barbecue at home, you will love cooking and hosting aboard SJR. Â There is also an auxiliary helm station on the port side of the cockpit.
Up top is the Skylounge. This is a fully enclosed, climate-controlled space with comfortable couches on both sides, providing an amazing elevated vantage point. There is a full helm station on the centreline with a reversing bench seat. This is both a social hub as well as a secluded and serene getaway. Â The upper deck, just aft of the Skylounge, is a great outdoor space for reading, yoga and keeping your toys organized. A massive 2500 Lb capacity crane can handle most things that will fit up top. There is also a full-size front-opening freezer and a day head for convenience.
Â
Four Private Staterooms: The vessel features a full-width master stateroom with a centerline queen berth, wrap-around corner desk and an ensuite head with shower. There is plenty of drawer and hanging storage. Â A VIP stateroom with a queen bed and private head, plus two additional guest cabins (one with a pullman queen, one with bunks), ensures plenty of space for visiting family and friends. The accommodations utilize white oak throughout, making for a modern and bright interior.
At the lower helm station, there is a small sink on the port side with cabinets and an opening to the galley. Just aft of the helm chair, there is a two-person settee with a table, which is a great space to hang out with the captain while underway.
Since 2022, all AC and DC lighting has been upgraded to high-quality LED bulbs throughout.
Custom stainless steel bow rail, cleats, fairleads, and accents make for an aesthetically pleasing, strong, and functional yacht that is one of a kind.
Galley and Domestic Equipment
The galley is perfectly positioned forward of the salon, open to the living spaces, so the chef is never left out. It features high-end Miele appliances, Corian counters, and abundant storage. Opposite, a dedicated dining table that provides a cozy spot for meals.
The galley features a Miele induction cooktop, Miele oven, and a Whirlpool stainless steel fridge/freezer. A Braun compactor and Ace garbage disposal make cleanup effortless.
On the upper deck aft of the Skylounge is a full-size front-opening deep freeze for longer excursions.
Keeping everyone comfortable on board, there is a CruiseAir reverse cycle heat and AC.
For more immediate and less electrically intensive heat, there is a commercial-grade Espar D30 diesel heater providing hydronic heating throughout the boat. All fluids have been flushed, injectors cleaned, and the upper pressure tank was removed and serviced.
For extended cruising, SJR has a high-capacity FCI watermaker with a daily capacity of 1200 gallons. You will have no issues keeping up with your water needs.
Electrical Systems
Power and redundancy are critical for remote cruising. "SJR" has a comprehensive and robust 24-volt DC system that ensures you are never without power.
Dual Generators: Enjoy unparalleled redundancy with two Kohler 13.5 KW  generators (1130 and 1038 hrs). You have a primary and a backup, ensuring ample power for all systems.
Inverter & Charging: A Trace 4000-watt inverter with a 125-amp charger allows you to run some AC systems without the generator.
Multiple battery banks: The electrical system is supported by separate starting batteries, accessory batteries and two independent house battery banks.
2 X 8D AGM Starting Batteries
2 X 4D AGM Generator Starting Batteries
2 X 8D AGM House Batteries
As well, there is a new lithium house battery bank that is independent of the AGM system and can be utilized with a simple battery selector switch. There are 4 X 460 Amp/Hr Vatrer lithium batteries with separate, Â dedicated Aims AC chargers to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Shore Power: A Glendinning Cablemaster automatically reels your port or starboard shore power cords, and an Auto Shore Power management system protects the vessel's electrical systems.
Electronics and Navigation
Cruise with confidence. The helm stations are equipped with a comprehensive suite of modern, integrated electronics that make navigation and watch-keeping safe and simple. A new Seaview tower was installed above the Skylounge to handle the external instrument sensors. All the wiring and NMEA backbone are new.
New Garmin Electronics: Recent upgrades include Garmin's latest touchscreen chartplotters at both the lower and upper helms (2 X 16" and 1 X 12"), Garmin multi-function displays, satellite compass, 48-mile GRM Fabton radar, transducer and wind instruments. Â Â
ICOM VHF radios with DSC capability provide reliable communication. The system is also equipped with AIS (displays on the Garmin plotters), which is critical for identifying large ships in busy shipping lanes or poor visibility.
New Lorex cameras were installed for improved visibility throughout the boat, including the engine room, anchor, lazarette, bilge areas as well as a high-resolution, remote-controlled camera with thermal imaging and infrared capabilities on the Seaview mast. They are displayed on a large screen at the lower helm station.
A Starlink antenna, Wi-Fi router, and power supply are installed for fast, reliable internet reception wherever you go.
Both helm stations have Detroit Diesel Electronic Controls, displaying engine functions and performance.
There are also rudder angle indicators and, of course, compasses.
The lower helm station has a full-sized chart table and a drawer for chart storage immediately to the port of the lower helm.
Ground Tackle and Tender
A heavy-duty 150 lb Delta stainless steel anchor paired with 400 feet of ½" galvanized chain ensures a secure hold. Â
Included is a UHMWPE mooring harness to alleviate tension on the anchor chain.
A powerful Muir hydraulic capstan windlass (with controls at the helm) allows you to raise and lower the anchor effortlessly, making anchoring a simple, one-person task. Foot controls as well as controls at upper and lower helm stations.
There is a camera positioned so you can see the anchor being retrieved while at the helm station.
A saltwater wash followed by freshwater is available for keeping the anchor locker clean.
The tender is stored on a custom stern davit system. There are steps that make boarding the tender simple while it's in the raised position, and lowering the boat into the water is simple and safe. You can also raise the tender while on board and step down when it's fully raised.
The tender is a 2023 Walker Bay Venture 14 rigid hull inflatable with a 60 Hp. Suzuki engine with less than 25 hours on both.
Mechanical
Main Engines: Twin Detroit Diesel 8V 92 series engines (750 HP each) provide power and reliability for long-range passages. With approximately 1,900 hours, they have been meticulously maintained throughout their life. Cullen Diesel was the primary service provider maintaining the engines.
The boat cruises efficiently at 9 knots, utilizing a combined 10-12 gallons an hour with both mains and one generator running.
Lasdrop dripless shaft seals, shaft brushes, shaft zincs and line cutters are all fitted.
The engine room is a space you will want to visit regularly. It's bright, clean and organized with plenty of space for routine maintenance.
There is a simple-to-use oil change pump that works with both mains and both generators.
There is also a freshwater flush system blumbed into both main engines.
Both engines have PTO's to supply redundant hydraulic pressure throughout the boat. Â
Hydraulic bow and stern thrusters make docking and tight maneuvers stress-free, even in challenging marinas.
There are two Kohler 13.5 kW generators to provide on-demand electricity. Both are fully serviced.
There are Wesmar 6' sq fin active stabilizers to ensure a comfortable ride when the seas are rough
Lots of spares and filters. At least 4 complete oil changes for all engines.
The engines have been stored heated since new, ensuring a warm engine room all year round. No moisture, no condensation, no cold starts.
Boathouse
The custom-made 80' boathouse is available as a separate purchase. It was built specifically for SJR and is located at the North Saanich Marina in a very easy-to-access location.
It has a custom aluminum gantry to make exterior maintenance easy.
It also includes 80' of exclusive dock space extending from the boathouse, making it an extremely unique opportunity.
There is a standing offer for $450,000 for the boathouse, but the purchaser of SJR will have first right of refusal.
Like SJR, this boathouse is one-of-a-kind and a must-see.Â
Walker Custom Boats Skiff and Boathouse
If you are looking for a complete expedition package, there is a Walker Custom Aluminum Boats, Centre Console 18 and a boathouse available. The boathouse is next to SJR's and includes a lift for out-of-the-water storage.
This boat tows beautifully behind SJR and is a great auxiliary vessel for expeditions, as its set up for fishing and is perfect for exploring rivers, lagoons and can handle barnacle-encrusted rocky landings better than a RIB.
It's 18'8" long, 8'4" wide and is powered by a Yamaha 115 hp as well as a 6Hp Tohatsu kicker.
There are Scotty electric downriggers on both sides, and they include many custom options available from Walker to make this a comfortable, efficient and easy-to-use boat.
Walker Custom Aluminum Boats are made in Coombs, BC and known for their dedication to quality and making some of the best aluminum boats on the coast.
The boathouse, boat and lift can be included with the purchase of SJR for an additional $100,000
