Description
The Nordhavn 57 was designed and built to provide comfort and safety anywhere in the world an owner wishes to cruise. A true Passagemaker with all the necessary features of a world class cruising yacht! The 57 maintains a rugged, commercial look, while retaining a contemporary elegance, and offers a level of performance that expands the envelope of top cruising speed and long-range potential.
The hull and its bulbous bow have been fine-tuned at the Engineering Facility at the University of British Columbia. The new design of Maintenance Strakes provides additional engine headroom height, while maintaining a lower freeboard and superstructure, for a beautiful exterior appearance. Combinations of a parabolic-shaped bulb, along with fuller sections aft, are all designed in combination to minimize drag and reduce bow pitch.
The 57’s exceptional beam offers a large interior that is carried all the way aft. Additional innovations include a walk-in engine room with dual work benches, a deep lazarette with shelves, a large cockpit, a swim platform with access door, a large flybridge that can be accessed from the pilothouse, and long-life fiberglass fuel and water tanks. A low profile, low center of gravity, and a bulbous bow make the Nordhavn 57 one of the best handling Nordhavns ever made.
“Starweather” has been upgraded and maintained over the years to the highest standards. No expense has been spared to keep her in a constant state of cruising readiness as well as in beautiful condition! Her seaworthiness, three stateroom layout, and a 3000 NM cruising range make “Starweather” the perfect couple’s cruising vessel.
“Starweather” is owned by a corporation. State taxes previously paid in Washington State.
Overview
Accommodations:
This Nordhavn 57 was built with port and starboard walk around side decks for easy access when picking up a mooring, anchoring or pulling up to a dock. The galley is well equipped including ample storage for extended cruising. The separate raised pilothouse along with port and starboard access doors to the Portuguese bridge, provide a level of comfort, safety and visibility that is second to none. The spacious flybridge can be accessed from the pilothouse. “Starweather’s” three cabin, two head layout, is a huge plus in a 57-foot’ boat!
