Description
HALE KAI is a rare late model, low hour Wide-Body Grand Banks 36' Classic. The yacht features the desirable centerline queen berth option in the owners aft stateroom. She is hull number 1117 and with only 975 original hours on her twin Cummins 210 hp diesel engines she is barely broken in. Her condition is immaculate and she is heavily upgraded. Her electronics are brand new as is her tender and outboard. This yacht is Turn-Key, fully serviced and ready to enjoy immediately!
In a production run from 1965 to 2004 Grand Banks built over 1200 36' Classics. The wide-Body versions were introduced in mid 1988 and they rarely come on market because owners simply love them.
Her all teak interior is in beautiful condition throughout. Her accommodations are divided fore-and-aft. The aft cabin owners stateroom, which is enormous for a 36-footer, has a centerline queen-sized island berth, walk-in wardrobe, large ensuite head, a wealth of storage and a companionway that opens out to the cockpit. The forward guest cabin cabin is down three steps from the main salon featuring twin berths, a hanging locker and ensuite head. There is a filler cushion that can be added to convert the bed to a large double.
A Semi-Displacement hull with a long keel, hard chines and a deep forefoot provide the stability that won the 36' a reputation for seaworthiness seldom matched by other boats in her class.
Capable of true deep-water cruising, the Grand Banks 36 Classic is a sea-worthy performer. From the very first glance, it is easy to see why this Ken Smith design is so desirable.
