Description
OVERVIEW:
PELAGIAL is a long-range transoceanic yacht built by the renowned Hakvoort Shipyard in Holland. Ruggedly built in the Dutch tradition with a steel hull coupled by a common joint weld bond to the aluminium superstructure. In 1996 the yacht was returned to the Hakvoort Yard for a major refit, including lengthening the structure 8 feet amidships and improving many of the systems, including new generators and a fuel polishing system as well as upgraded plumbing, wiring and much more. PELAGIAL has had only three owners and has always enjoyed the care and maintenance of professional captains. The current owner purchased her in 2015 and has done extensive upgrades such as full repaint of hull & superstructure at Driscoll’s in San Diego with new blue hull color, her Cummins N85M engines were rebuilt in October 2019 along with new exhaust system, in February 2020. Her Naiad stabilizers were upgraded and in March 2020 her entire air conditioning system serviced. Prior to her paint work being completed all necessary steel plate work on the hull, bow, chain locker was replaced where needed and finished with new paint & complete bottom job. She represents excellent value especially considering the top pedigree that one associates with the Hakvoort brand. With generous storage, high volume refrigerator and freezer capacity and a huge assortment of spare parts on board, PELAGIAL is ready for her new owner’s adventures.
Accommodations
MAIN DECK:
Boarding PELAGIAL is easy through port and starboard gates in the bulwarks amidships or aft via the swim platform stairwell. The exterior main decks and upper decks are covered in white epoxy finish (shown in the videos) featuring a complete walkaround and are complimented by a Portuguese Bridge railing forward of the wheelhouse with gate access to the foredeck and anchor windlass station at the bow. The covered aft deck has enclosed stairs through the transom to the swim step and lazarette. A stainless-steel ladder and overhead hatch provide secondary access up to the upper deck. Aft is a built-in settee with offset teak table and chairs, perfect forsightseeing, socializing and al fresco dining. The settee also has generous storage below as well as a built-in stainless steel refrigerated drink cooler.
MAIN SALON & DINING:
Entering the vessel from the aft deck through a sliding door, the Main Salon has a large L-shaped sofa to starboard and built-in Entertainment Center opposite. All interior woodwork is a fine grain honey-colored European oak. A private stairway to port leads down to the Master Stateroom. Next forward to port is the Dining Area with a large drop-leaf table and built-in settee. Opposite to starboard is a large buffet outboard with generous storage cabinets below.
GALLEY, PANTRY & LAUNDRY:
Moving forward, there is a passageway with the large, well-appointed galley to port with plenty of storage and counter space as well as a convenient pass-through to the Dining area. The Galley is fully equipped for gourmet cooking with dual stacked ovens, microwave, a three burner- Wolf electric induction range, and Granite countertops. Two traditional port holes outboard provide exterior views from the galley and fresh air ventilation while cooking. The Day Head is conveniently located on the main deck opposite the galley. Moving forward along the passageway there is a starboard watertight door to the side deck, and separate wet locker. To port is an office workstation convenient to the Pilothouse and a very large walk-in Pantry with plenty of dry storage and a laundry work area with additional storage space. Opposite the pantry is a new cabinet containing a washer/dryer, a drinks fridge, and a 24-bottle wine cooler.
PILOTHOUSE:
All the way forward on the Main Deck is the enclosed Pilothouse featuring a full-beam dash with centerline helm and pilot chair. To port is a small comfortable settee with table and bookshelves above. A centerline stairway aft in the Pilothouse leads down to the guest accommodations and crew quarters
OWNER STATEROOM: The full-beam Master Stateroom is located aft and is accessed by a private stairway located at the port aft Main Salon. A queen-sized bed is cleverly built into the portside quarter allowing more usable space in the middle of the owner’s suite. Built-in nightstands compliment bulkhead mounted reading lamps and plenty of storage, including three deep drawers beneath the bed. Additional storage includes an oversized hanging locker located on the portside. A large dresser is built into the aft bulkhead with a large bookcase above. On the starboard side is comfortable built-in settee just aft of the ensuite owner’s head which includes a full-sized bathtub and separate stand-up shower stall in addition to the head, sink and vanity.
VIP & GUEST STATEROOMS: There are three cabins in the forward area of the vessel accessed from the Pilothouse stairway. The VIP Stateroom is in the bow and features a queen-sized island berth with adjacent built-in settees and bookshelves outboard. Drawer storage and extra storage space is located beneath the berth with a large hanging locker to port. Also, a floor hatch leads to the large bilge area containing many spare parts and additional storage. On the starboard side there is an enclosed head and shower ensuite, including sink and vanity. Aft of the
VIP Stateroom is a centerline passageway separating two mirror-image guest/crew cabins with over-under twin berths at right angles and generous storage as well as a sink basin ensuite. These two cabins also share an enclosed head, shower and basin accessed on the port side of the passageway.
FLYBRIDGE & BOAT DECK: Stairs on the starboard side of the pilothouse lead up to the Flybridge which includes a forward dash with full engine controls and instruments. There is a centerline helm followed by a bench seat with room for three persons. Directly behind the Flybridge Helm is a large console containing chest refrigeration and deep freeze suitable for long range provisions and fresh fish. Next aft is a large L-shaped dinette with additional chairs providing seating for eight followed by a clever island wet bar efficiency with sink, U-Line ice maker, U-Line
mini refrigerator and Lynx stainless propane barbecue. The Fly Bridge area is surrounded by aluminum bulwarks and a hard top cover with radar arch. The hard top and arch may be hydraulically lowered for bridge clearance. All the way aft is the Boat Deck with hydraulic davit and centerline chocks for the RIB tender.
