Description
Welcome to "MERCATOR" -- A truly exceptional Grand Banks 42 Classic that has had the best of care and significant upgrading. Of note, is the fibreglass replacement of the cockpit and side teak decks. Her brightwork has been professionally maintained inside and out. There are canvas covers to protect everything along with a deluxe winter cover as well. The interior is spotless and the engine room gleams. She comes fully equipped including a new watermaker -- just start the engines and sail-her away ! October 2023 Survey available. As an added bonus, moorage for "MERCATOR" is available at Cedar Grove Marina, Sidney, B.C.
General Description and Accommodations
The Grand Banks Classic defined the “classic tri-cabin” layout. This layout features wide side decks, a good working cockpit, safe anchor platform and foredeck, and a spacious flybridge. The salon is large and bright with big, clear windows, a fine helm area, and a galley designed to be used. There is also an L-shaped settee, helm seating, dining table, and bar cabinet, along with salon access to both side decks.
All berths feature pillow-top spring coil mattresses. The owner's cabin is aft, featuring a large double bed to starboard and large single to port. Lots of storage space including a large hanging locker to port. The ensuite head has a Vacuflush toilet and separate shower.
The forward guest cabin provides a spacious V-berth, hanging locker and drawers, ensuite head with Vacuflush toilet and shower.
Salon
- Original Grand Banks teak chairs along with original Captain’s Chair made of stainless and teak.
- Bar cabinet, with flip-up lid access to bottles and glasses, a drop leaf front for bar counter space, and drawers and lockers often used as part of the galley stowage.
