The Contessa 32 needs no introduction; this legendary design by Jeremy Rogers and David Sadler is globally recognized as one of the most marine and elegant "modern classics" ever built. With its sleek hull, deep keel, and excellent ballast ratio, this type of boat offers unmatched comfort and security, even in the most challenging weather conditions — a reputation firmly established by being the only boat in its class to finish the infamous Fastnet Race of 1979. For the sailor looking for a yacht that is both sporty and indulgent, the Contessa 32 remains the absolute reference, both for coastal sailing and serious ocean crossings.
This specific 1972 example has been prepared for long voyages by the current owner through considerable investments. The technical installation has been completely overhauled with a new Nanni 21 hp engine (only 100 hours of operation), a new propeller shaft, and a new 45-liter fuel tank. The sail wardrobe is also in excellent condition with three-year-old sails, including an unused Solent and a Gennaker on a Selden bowsprit. With a mast and rigging replaced in 2014 and the addition of an electric windlass Lewmar, this vessel is technically up to date and ready for immediate departure.
The interior has been fully optimized and partially renovated, with the kitchen being redesigned with new coverings and a modern refrigerator featuring a silent compressor from 2024. On board, you enjoy modern comfort thanks to cabin heating, LED lighting, and an additional water tank bringing the total capacity to 130 liters. The navigation equipment has also been renewed with a Raymarine autopilot from 2022 and a modern VHF Navicom radio with AIS. Although the hull recently sustained minor cosmetic damage during a storm, the repair of these will be fully carried out professionally as part of the sale.
