This impressive Super Van Craft 1400 AK, named 'Odin', is now available! This ship, built in 1962, embodies the timeless elegance and robust quality that Super Van Craft is known for. Originally designed for professional use with a highly seaworthy hull and bow thruster, this 'Odin' has been perfectly converted into a luxurious pleasure craft with a beautiful mahogany interior.
Recent investments and top condition:
Since the purchase in 2015, a total of € 125,000 has been invested to bring and keep 'Odin' in top condition. This includes, among other things:
A completely renewed teak deck (2017-2018). The old deck was removed and a new 5 mm steel plate was welded underneath (treated with 3 layers of epoxy paint), followed by new marine-grade plywood and new teak.
The thickness of the hull was measured and plates were welded where necessary.
The steel hull and superstructure have been repainted.
The mahogany superstructure has been completely renovated with new pieces.
The interior ceilings have been completely renewed with new upholstery and insulation.
A renewed electrical installation with Victron battery chargers (60A) and inverter (850W/1600VA).
A new boiler (30L - 220V + engine heat).
New Eberspächer D5 Airtronic hot air heating (2023) with two new red diesel tanks.
A new refrigerator (88L) and freezer (65L).
The entire interior has been revarnished.
The anchor winch has been overhauled.
Comfort and Specifications:
'Odin' offers generous dimensions of 14.00 m in length, 4.00 m in width, and a draft of 135 cm, ensuring a stable and comfortable journey. The headroom in the salon is 195 cm. It offers 4 fixed sleeping places and 2 extra sleeping places divided over 2 cabins. The galley is fully equipped with a 4-burner gas stove and a combi oven with grill.
A good example of professional construction that was later converted for recreation with 2x 220HP engines and a very seaworthy bow thruster, this ship is now powered by two overhauled original Volvo Penta MD47 engines (from 1962, 2x 85 hp, 400 engine hours after overhaul in 2012), it is both powerful and economical with a fuel consumption of 5 liters/hour per engine. An electric bow thruster (Vetus 12V) makes maneuvering a breeze.
Seaworthy and fully equipped:
This Super Van Craft is seaworthy and equipped with extensive navigation equipment, including a Sestrel and digital Authelm ST30 compass, Authelm ST30 depth sounder, Garmin 126/128 GPS, Furuno 1000 JRC radar, and a Shipmate RS8100 VHF. Safety features such as life buoys, electric bilge pumps, fire extinguishers, and life jackets are present.
