Narrowboat BCN 62FT Converted Steel Work Barge 'JOSEPH HOPPER'

Here we have 'Joseph Hopeer', reportedly a 62ft steel narrowboat/work barge of mostly lap joint assembly, built in the style of BCN (Birmingham Canal Navigation) in circa 1920. The boat has a large cargo hold at the midsection and an aft cabin containing the engine room and accommodation. Powered by a Petter PD2 air-cooled twin-cylinder inboard diesel engine, coupled to a Parson's mechanical gearbox. We believe this boat to be priced very well, and anticipate a quick sell.

When these boats are removed from the canals, we receive nothing other than a sparsely populated 'valuation report' on the vessel. As a result, please note that we cannot guarantee the condition of the engine, gearbox, or indeed the hull of the vessel. Having said that, the vessel was recovered from the water when floating and has been stored on hard standing since, so we have no reason to believe that the hull may be compromised. We encourage any buyer to conduct a survey on the boat should they have any reservations. The boat is being sold as seen.
