High-End Supercar Customization Meets Superboat Design





Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) is currently taking place and its exhibition doors remain open until 3 March. It is here that SACS Tecnorib will present the Maxi RIB Pirelli 42 the Gronos 6×6, based on the Mercedes G Class, a special edition model created in collaboration with Mansory, a German company specializing in the customization of high-end supercars. Pirelli's Mannerfelt Design team are responsible for the hull and deck design.





Carbon-fiber fittings have been installed from bone to aft, making the vessel feather-light with the dry weight of a baby (9 kg). Carbon made components include the aerodynamic hard top, cockpit control panel, and other details of the wheelhouse, such as its cabinet door, cupholders, throttles, joystick and more.





RIB fans often prefer the open walkaround layout that provides a more exhilarating way to traverse the open waters. While feeling the ocean back spray into your hair is not for everyone, it gives a stable ride offering great seakeeping and handling, making it one of the safest options for boating adventures further ashore, even in choppy conditions, which is why they are often used for rescue operations. Measuring 43 feet, it's in the same size category as a mighty Scorpion Sting with vast internal social areas with adaptive seating for up to 14 people.

Layout And Standout Features 





Forward of the bow are bow-facing sun loungers and two aft-facing seats with cushioned armrests. The helm sporty is covered by a hard top starlite by hundreds of Hella roof lights, creating atmosphere on board as soon as the sun draws down. Everything about the helm station screams racy, with a start/stop button cover and a supercar-inspired steering wheel configured with a Raymarine digital navigation system. 





Admidships is a well-appointed cabin offering a comfortable space to relax in, or even to stay overnight while on a longer boating trip away. Abaft is a retractable carbon-fiber table aft bench seat that comfortably sits four around this for lunch. Further back are two further sun loungers.

The vessel enables the owner to enjoy a high degree of customization, from the cushion covers, logos, waterproof leather upholstery (color and quilt), paint-matched engines, and a custom-made steering wheel.
