VONORE, Tenn. — MasterCraft will kick off its 35th Anniversary/Homecoming festivities Friday, September 13, with a Poker Run on Lake Tellico on the edge of the Smoky Mountain National Park. According to a press release from the company, the run will start at MasterCraft's world headquarters in Vonore and conclude at Calhoun's and Key Largo Grill at Fort Loudon Marina.
On Saturday, September 14, there will be a new and vintage MasterCraft "beauty contest." A number of the company's professional water-skiers, wakeboarders and barefooters will be there to sign autographs and give free clinics. MasterCraft factory representatives will also give boat-care seminars and factory tours will be available.
After a catered lunch, the Wisconsin Stars show ski
team will give two performances. The Shane Myers band will perform later, leading up to a lakeside 35th Anniversary dinner and awards presentation.
The event will conclude Sunday, September 15, with free boat rides and demonstrations. However, the company will continue to celebrate its 35th anniversary throughout the year at boat shows, tour stops and reunions.
"Not only will the 35th celebration be the largest-ever contingent of MasterCraft owners at one time in the same place, but the biggest collection of inboard and V-Drive owners ever," said Rob May, MasterCraft's director of marketing. "No other boat company in the world has brought this many people—with the same passions about life, sport and product—together at
once."
Attendance is open to the public. Admission for Team MasterCraft members and their immediate family is $35, and admission for non-members and their immediate family is $50. Team members will receive a commemorative 35th Anniversary T-shirt and Non-members will receive a Team MasterCraft welcome package and 35th Anniversary T-shirt. MasterCraft owners are encouraged to bring their boats. Several area hotels and campgrounds are offering discounted rates for those attending the event.
