Tonight I'm going to do something different: make a big bowl of popcorn and plunk myself down in front of the TV. Because Team SCA's documentary No Ordinary Women is airing for the first time here in the USA.

This trailer gives us a three minute taste of what to expect as we learn more about the making of Team SCA. As the press release explains, "No Ordinary Women follows the making of the all-female team – blood, sweat, tears and all."

I began following Team SCA because I've competed against a few of the group (Sally Barkow, Annie Lush), and I knew several of the others by reputation. They've since earned my loyalty with their "never give up" attitude. First out of the Med at the beginning of the Volvo Ocean Race leg one, they then staged a final-hours comeback to finish sixth overall—and a few days ago, made the podium for the first time in Cape Town's in-port race.

The first of four TV episodes airs tonight at 8pm eastern on NBC Universal Sports. The next three episodes will air November 24, December 1 and December 8. And two reruns each will air during the week following each episode. For those of you outside the US, here's a link to the schedule for the rest of the world.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go buy some popcorn.
