Inside Boot Düsseldorf 2025: The World’s Largest Indoor Boat Show
Highlights and boat debuts from this year's boot Dusseldorf Boat Show.
Each January, the world's boating community turns its attention to Düsseldorf, Germany, home to the largest indoor boat show on the planet. Boot Düsseldorf 2025, held from January 18th to 26th, was once again a stunning showcase of the latest yacht debuts, cutting-edge marine technology, and exciting watersports innovations. The event drew over 200,000 visitors from 120 countries, featuring more than 1,500 exhibitors across 19 massive exhibition halls—each packed with everything from high-performance tenders to 100-foot superyachts craned in straight from the Rhine River.

A Spectacle of Yachts and Innovation
From the moment we entered the halls of Messe Düsseldorf, the sheer scale of the show was overwhelming. The indoor space spanned over 3.3 million square feet, making it the ideal venue for an event of this magnitude. Every corner of the exhibition was meticulously staged, with lighting, sound design, and interactive displays that made it feel more like a world-class automotive show than a traditional boat expo.
One of the more impressive displays at the show was the Sirena Yachts booth where the company had elevated two of their larger yachts (the Sirena 48 and Sirena 78) above a sea of different height light bulbs on tall slender stands, creating a stunning visual that oddly, our iPhones kept reading as some kind of QR code, making it difficult to record. We finally captured it, as you can see in the post below, shared by YachtWorld.

Another one of our favorites at the show was the San Lorenzo SP92. Have you ever seen a superyacht like this indoors? It was wild to see how the team at San Lorenzo had worked with Mess Dusseldorf staff to hoist this 78-ton yacht into the exhibition hall and up on to stands, where it towered over the crowds below. This 92-foot masterpiece is powered by twin MAN V12 engines and hits an impressive top speed of 38 knots. She even features solar panels to extend battery life and keep things eco-friendly. Accommodating 8 guests and 4 crew—this is truly luxury yachting redefined.

This lineup alone would have been enough to make the show worthwhile, but there was so much more to see. From the latest electric propulsion systems and hybrid technology to revolutionary foiling sailboats and premium accessories, Boot Düsseldorf 2025 had something for every type of boater.
A Hub for Marine Innovation
Beyond the yachts, the show featured a variety of cutting-edge marine technologies. The "Blue Innovation Dock" brought together visionaries, politicians, and investors to discuss the future of sustainable boating, while hands-on demonstrations showcased the latest in electric propulsion and alternative fuels. Leading engine manufacturers such as Honda, Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Yamaha, Volvo Penta, Torqeedo, and Yanmar all had major presences, unveiling their newest advancements in fuel efficiency, electric drivetrains, and hybrid power systems.

One of the standout areas of the show was the watersports section, featuring everything from foilboards and wake surfing demos to diving equipment and new SUP (stand-up paddleboard) designs. The interactive exhibits made it clear that Boot Düsseldorf is not just about yachts—it’s a playground for anyone who loves being on or in the water.
Experiencing Düsseldorf
Our home base for the week was the Melia Düsseldorf, a modern and comfortable hotel conveniently located just a 10-minute taxi ride from the show. The hotel offered an onsite restaurant, spa, and a private guest lounge where we could recharge with drinks, snacks, and coffee throughout the day. The work-friendly atmosphere made it an ideal spot to recap the day's discoveries and plan for the next.
Just outside the hotel, we explored Hofgarten Park, Germany’s first and oldest public garden, established in 1769. This sprawling green space features meadows, flowerbeds, ponds, and sculptures, providing a peaceful contrast to the high-energy atmosphere of the show. One particularly interesting landmark nearby was Napoleonsberg, an artificial hill named after Emperor Napoleon I, who played a role in transforming the Hofgarten into an English landscape garden.
The Beauty of the Rhine
No visit to Düsseldorf is complete without taking in the views of the Rhine River, one of Europe’s most important waterways. Spanning over 760 miles, the Rhine flows through six countries and serves as a major hub for commerce and transportation. Walking along the riverfront, with its historic architecture and bustling promenades, gave us a deeper appreciation for Düsseldorf’s unique blend of maritime heritage and modern industry.
