The famed schooner Bluenose II will add a touch of history to a series of cultural events in Nova Scotia this summer, including the Stan Rogers Folk Festival in Canso from July 5 to 7, the Pictou Lobster Carnival from July 10 to 14, the Mahone Bay Wooden Boat Festival on August 3 and 4, and the Fishermen's Picnic and Reunion in Lunenburg August 17 and 18. Bluenose II will also be in Lunenburg during the World Youth Sailing Championships, July 17 to 28.
Bluenose II is an enduring icon of Nova Scotia's seafaring past, maintained and operated by the Bluenose II Preservation Trust. She will be available for public cruises in a number of communities around the province this summer, including Pictou, Halifax, Shelburne, Lunenburg and Baddeck. The public is also welcome to walk the decks of this graceful vessel when she is not sailing, including during her visits to Clark's Harbour from August 30 to September 3 and Yarmouth from September 5 to 8.
