ARC Europe 2001
Two fleets depart May 10 to rendezvous in Bermuda
After spending the winter cruising the Caribbean, yachts taking part in Yachting World ARC Europe are gathered at Jolly Harbour Marina, Antigua ready for the start on May 10. A second fleet is preparing at Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor, St.Augustine, Florida for the same start. Both groups will join up at Bermuda in mid-May. Prior to departure there is a full schedule of social activities and safety briefings in both Antigua and St. Augustine.
There are 31 boats in the Antigua fleet representing seven nations; boats range in size from a Crealock 34 to a Hylas 54. Yachting World ARC Europe is open to cruising monohulls with a minimum length of 27 ft (8.23m) and cruising catamarans from 27 to 60 ft (8.23m - 18.29m) LOA. Yachts int he Cruising Division are allowed to motor.

Founded by cruising legend and author Jimmy Cornell, the World Cruising Club is now part of Sir Chay Blyth's Challenge Business, best known for the BT Global Challenge.
