The Switch 51 is a classic, high performance world voyager designed by VPLP. She was built with high tech materials and techniques at Sud Composites in Sete, France. Sud built 18 of these fine performance catamarans from 2000 to 2007, at which time the yard was taken over by Swiss Cat, another renowned builder of boutique performance cats.  During the early years at Sud Composites, The Multihull Company was the North American distributor and we sold several of these exceptional cats to our customers, all of whom loved the boats and sailed great distances in them safely and swiftly.  One of our customers raced his Switch 51 and took winning honors in every race he entered.  But for all that, the Switch is a very comfortable liveaboard voyager. Her two aft master cabins are very spacious and her forward port V-berth is double bed size.  TREBUCHET is a 2000 Switch 51 (hull # 1) in good condition and well equipped for liveaboard cruising. She is a fully kitted catamaran ready to sail anywhere in the world.  Just take a look at her full specs to see all the gear and equipment.  Her daggerboards and sleek hulls give her the ability to point much higher to the wind than the typical keel equipped catamaran.  She will easily average 9 to 11 knots over a 24 hour period in favorable conditions and she is capable of high teens in surfing and high wind conditions. Unlike comparable Outremer 50 to 55 of this vintage, she is all composite above the waterline (single skin vinlylester resin under the waterline) with all foam cored hull and even foam cored furniture.  Her wider flared hulls will carry far greater payloads without bogging down. The Switch 51 is a fantastic option for any customers looking to go places in style - she is fast, attractive, and comfortable.  You can have the all the advantages of a modern performance-oriented catamaran without the price tag of a new build design. TREBUCHET is currently located in St Augustine, FL and available for showings by appointment.

Price reduced. Sellers will consider all serious offers! Etincelle 60 COOL CAT was built by the Tecna yard in Brazil, best known for the Dolphin catamarans. She is hull #3 of a series of 6 sister-ships and was launched in 2000. Tecna is a household name at The Multihull Company as it is the builder of the better known Dolphin 430 and Dolphin 460s. Our company sold a few dozen of the new Dolphin 430s/460s and we continue to sell them second-hand all over the world. They are known for quality of craftsmanship and outstanding sailing performance.  A carbon-epoxy construction, COOL CAT is designed and built for reliable, blue-water performance. The centerpiece of the yacht is a rotating, carbon wing mast with all textile standing rigging (standing rigging replaced in 2016), and carbon fiber Park Avenue boom. The mast was cured in an oven. The boat is equipped with recent Calvert performance sails: carbon-composite mainsail, carbon-composite, self-taking jib, a 2022 gennaker and two spinnakers. Moving forward along the wide decks you note the carbon composite dagger-boards outboard. And ahead, the long, narrow bows and the long trampoline take your breath away. The distinguishing feature of this cat is the limited footprint of the bridge-deck in relation to the waterline length. This design is all about keeping weight down – just under 20,000 pounds or 10 tons – and centered. This cat’s very long legs and minimal deck volume give it a sea-kindly motion especially in choppy or rough seas that in turn allow high average speeds - where other boats hobby horse. The bridge deck clearance is a rare 95 centimeters (over 3 feet).   The low-profile coach-roof gives you excellent access to the boom, mainsail, lazy jacks and stack pack for stowing the main, accessing reef lines or maneuvering underway.  The headroom inside the salon is 1,95 meters.  Moving back to the stern, we have a view on the extra-long sugar scoops and you will note the significant distance between the aft beam and transoms - a real design difference here with even the more modern performance cats that offer very little waterline length behind the bridge-deck. The davits hold a new 14 foot RIB dinghy with 40HP Yamaha 2 stroke outboard engine. An elegant, carbon fiber frame holds two 380 watt solar panels. For the pleasure of helming this speedster, two rear tiller steering stations are equipped with Raymarine wind instruments and autopilot repeaters.    COOL CAT is a superbly constructed, simple, performance cat with beautiful lines. It was designed to achieve 200-300 mile days over long distances and has proven reliable on numerous ocean passages over many years. We would be delighted to show you COOL CAT in person. Always in impeccable condition, this is a cat on which all systems work and all equipment is continuously maintained. The owners sail 2,000-4,000 miles a year aboard.  Do check out the attached video and give us a call to discuss.    NOT FOR SALE TO U.S. RESIDENTS IN U.S. WATERS
