Tiller Girl is a beautiful classic sailing yacht, sold reluctantly in fully ‘ship shape’ condition. She has been owned by a small number of very caring owners who have ensured that she stayed in excellent condition and has been regularly maintained and cared for. She was built as a one off design by Frank Parsons, the owner of Seacraft Ltd, Leigh on Sea. Her design was inspired by the Lauren Giles ‘Peter Duck’ series, however, her longer length and other features make her a more comfortable and practical cruising yacht. She was Part 1 British Registered in 1965. Tiller Girl has a long keel with keel hung rudder, aft cockpit with tiller steering. She is rigged as a masthead Bermudan sloop with in-line spreaders and roller reefing. Tiller Girl is a classic wooden boat of Carvel wooden construction of 1″ Iroko planking on Oak. LOA 31’9” (9.67m)LWL 24’6” (8.32m)Beam 9’1” (2.78m)Draft 3’9” (1.14m)Displacement (in commission) around 7.5 tons Tiller Girl is fitted with a Volvo Penta engine (Volvo 2030B and gearbox (1995) with all required equipment) and automatic fire extinguisher. The cabin window glass was replaced in spring 2025 along with the seals, due to some clouding of the old glass. The fore cabin hatchway and anode were replaced at the same time. Tiller Girl has comfortable, characterful accommodation offering four berths in two cabins with good headroom. There is a twin forward berth cabin, marine heads & wet locker. Then the main saloon cabin with port & starboard settee berths, fitted galley, chart table and instruments. The cabin was given a fresh coat of paint in spring 2024. Tiller Girl is sold with a full set of sails. The Mainsail and Genoa are both from Doug Seaden, Sailmaker in 2014. They are bespoke measured and fitted. Mainsail in the Contender 7.52 cloth with two reefs set up for slab reefing; the 150% Genoa in Contender 6.46 cloth has foam luff to maintain shape under reefing. There is also a Cruising Chute by Jeckells in 2007, the single double spinnaker sheet serves the Cruising Chute, and a sail stack. Some of the former sails are also available is required. The mast is aluminium, and the boom is of spruce. The standing rigging was upgraded in 2020. Tiller Girl is also supplied with spray dodgers. We're excited to present a unique opportunity to own 'Alleron II', a beautifully restored 1966 Salcombe Yawl. Built in Salcombe and named in the tradition of these iconic vessels (all named after birds), 'Alleron II' has undergone a significant restoration, making her a rare find for any sailing enthusiast. Key Features: Classic Construction: Built with mahogany planking on green oak ribs, 'Alleron II' boasts a timeless design. The restoration involved replacing four planks, 23 ribs, and all the decking with durable Sapele plywood. The quarters were meticulously rebuilt, and the transom has been reinforced for added strength. Rigging & Spars: Equipped with a cast iron lifting keel and pitch pine spars, she features both a main mast and a mizzen mast, along with a bowsprit. Restoration Potential: The vessel comes with a suit of sails, which, while past their prime, can serve as excellent templates for new ones. An assortment of deck fittings is included, allowing the new owner the flexibility to update and position them to their preference. Trailer: The trailer, purchased new, has never been immersed and is in excellent condition. Modern Adaptation: There’s potential to adapt the hull to accommodate an electric motor, offering a modern twist to this classic vessel. 'Alleron II' is more than just a boat; she’s a piece of maritime history with a character that shines through her every plank and spar. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor looking to restore a classic or a newcomer wanting to own a piece of the past, 'Alleron II' offers a perfect blend of tradition and opportunity. Please note, this vessel is not lying Brighton Marina, all viewings by appointment only please.
