NorthCoast boats are well known for their pilothouse and center console models, which serve up fishermen with a heaping helping of angling acuity along with comfort and downeast design. Up until now, however, their line consisted of relatively small boats and was capped at 31’. For the 2025 model year there’s a big change in store and “big” is the key word here, with the introduction of their all-new 415 HT.

NorthCoast 415 HT Design and Construction

One of the traits of the NorthCoast line is excellent rough-water capabilities and smooth riding in a choppy sea, something the company focused on maintaining in the 415 HT. The hull incorporates an aggressive 24.6-degree deep-V deadrise with a slightly rounded off keel and reverse chines to boost stability. It’s backed up with an all-composite foam-filled stringer grid system, a hull-to-deck joint that’s both mechanically and chemically sealed, a high-density foam-core transom, and a cored deck, and gets backed up with a 12-year structural warranty. Note that it’s designed with modern tech, too, and is a digital switching boat via RayMarine YachtSense. Systems from pumps to the climate control can all be controlled with a swipe on the touchscreen MFDs at the helm.

Like many boats designed with fishing in mind the cockpit is kept open for angling action. The wheelhouse features a large dinette/settee to port, the helm, and a galley aft of the helm. The central walkway jogs to port at the front of the dinette, which adds seating space to the dinette itself while maintaining an open feel with lots of elbow room and also ensures that with every step from the aft cabin bulkhead to the lower cabin you have good handholds along the way.

In the lower cabin, the 415 HT boasts a private forward stateroom and a mid-cabin stateroom with twin and single berths. A fully enclosed head with stall shower is to starboard, and there’s a bonus relaxation spot on a settee across from it to port.

NorthCoast 415 HT Fishing Features

With 46’1” of LOA and a 12’11” beam, the cockpit is downright monstrous. There are tuna-sized 75-gallon in-deck fishboxes in the deck to either side, a pair of 29-gallon livewells in the transom, five stock flush-mount rodholders, and a raw water washdown. Anglers will also enjoy having the freshwater cockpit shower for washing down gear on the way home from the canyons. Trollers will enjoy discovering an aft-facing bait-watching seat to port with an insulated drink box underneath, and no matter what type of fishing you do you’ll enjoy using the tackle stowage station to starboard.

One of the most notable options anglers will want to consider is a pedestal battle station with six rocket launchers, a pair of cupholders, a rigging platform, and a tackle drawer. On our sea trial we found it useful not only from a fishing perspective, but also as an ever-present handhold and/or leaning spot where most boats have none. Rupp outriggers and EVA foam cockpit decking round out the options mix.

The 415 HT’s stock electronics package will also prove to be a high point for the fishermen among us, with a pair of 19” Raymarine Axiom MFDs sitting at the helm. The system includes RealVision Max 3D sonar, CHIRP DownVision, and SideVision. Cyclone Pro open array radar is also included.

NorthCoast 415 HT Cruising Features

The biggest thing cruisers and family anglers will love about this boat is simply the size of the cabin and its open, airy feel, but beyond that there’s plenty to take note of. For starters, the boat’s hands-down beautiful inside. Bulkheads are mahogany veneer and trim, and accents and tables are real wood. There are USB charging ports within reach of each berth and at the helm, berths also have reading lights, and the cabin is cooled with 28,000-BTUs of a.c. The biggest comfort-boost in the cabin, however, comes from underneath the deck: a standard-issue Seakeeper 4 gyroscopic stabilization system.

NorthCoast 415 HT Performance

A whopping 1,200 outboard horses grace the transom of the 41 HT, in the form of quad Yamaha F300s. With a moderate load (about half fuel and three people aboard) they deliver performance that’s better than the norm in this day and age and would shock anyone running a 40-plus-foot cabin boat a few years ago. At a 4500-rpm cruise the boat clips along at over 40 mph, and when the throttles are opened up, hits a top-end in the upper 50s. Fuel economy throughout the range never dips below 0.5 mpg, even at wide-open, and most efficient cruise comes at 4000 rpm and speeds in the upper 30s where the boat gets 0.8 mpg. With the fuel tank topped off that makes for a range in excess of 400 miles, including a 10-percent fuel reserve.

It wasn’t terrifically rough during our test but there was a breeze in the air and a chop on the water. In this boat, a moderate bay chop is essentially irrelevant including at full throttle. Plus, even without the Seakeeper spooled up the boat was rock-solid underfoot. And while we weren’t able to run the boat in truly angry conditions, we’d have to say that if you take the 415 HT for a sea trial we certainly don't think you'll be disappointed.

Naturally, with a boat this big there are a lot more details to cover and we can’t list out each and every one here. It’s important to note, however, that the boat is incredibly well thought-out and outfitted. The bow thruster is standard, as is a windlass with a freshwater washdown; the transom shower offers hot water; there are cockpit seating options for those who would rather cruise than fish; the windshields are serviced by triple pantographic windshield wipers with washers; tackle station drawers are on detents so they won’t slide open in heavy seas; the list goes on and on. It’s clear that when NorthCoast decided to make the leap into an entirely new class of boat they didn’t just think big—they also thought bodacious.
